Mangaluru, Nov 3: Three Christian leaders from Congress from city joined BJP on Sunday, November 3.

Deepak D’Souza Attavar, Sidney Fernandes Falnir and Naveen Vas Babugudde are the leaders who joined BJP.

They were welcomed by Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyasa Kamath at BJP office.

The MLA welcomed them by giving them the party flag and by draping them with shawls.

Speaking on the occasion, Deepak D’Souza said ‘’Though we worked for Congress party for the past 25 years with utmost loyalty, we did not get proper recognition. Hence we have joined BJP today. Congress got 99% of the Christian votes, yet the party showed no interest for the development of the community. The inspiration to join BJP comes from BJP’s strong national leadership as well from the able local leadership of Vedavyasa Kamath. Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikas is our motivation. We shall work wholeheartedly from today itself for the victories of BJP candidates in the forthcoming MCC elections.”

Deepak is political convenor of Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh and state secretary of All India Catholic Union.

BJP leaders Ravishankar Mijar, Bhaskar Chandra Shetty, and Nitin Kumar were present.

These fellows enjoyed the Congress when it was in power and now when it is not in power join the party which is in power. They will be like the MLA's of Karnataka who left the Congress. Sabka sath, sabka vikas is old saying of BJP, which has no take over today as this slogan has become stale. Most people, do not bother for it. Secondly, if there are less representation of Christian community, it is our own fault because, some leaders do not want their fellow community junior leader to come up and climb the ladder and move forward. They are too, too selfish.
After all, known devil is better than unknown angel.

Those who wish to leave the congress may do so gracefully without attributing any reasons for their personal frustration. After enjoying all the comforts these fence sitters jump campus seeking personal political gain. Once such example is S.M.Krishna who was MLA, MP, Minister, Deputy CM, Speaker, Chief Minister, Central Minister, Governor, and Ambassador. What more positions are left for a politician who was adorned with all posts for 40 years and then leaves the congress party after foul-mouthing the leader of the Congress. Today there is none who cares for him in the party he has adopted as the best.

Further who said to you that he is not happy there at BJP? If so he would have resigned and left politics or would have joined the party of his choice.
