You're right. Abetment of suicide is an offence under section 306 & 107 of the Indian penal code, 1860. The culprit should be punished.

Fr. Mahesh death is under mysterious circumstances. There is no suicide note. He is not a person who will accept defeat so easily. From the childhood, he was very jovial and friendly person. The hidden, deceitful eye, is the real culprit which only the investigating officers will know.

Well done, Shirva parishioners for fighting for just cause. Our support is with you.

Fr. Mahesh was a very strong person as far as I know him. Not the one to commit suicide. If he has, there must be a reason and that reason should be made public and the people should know who compelled him and why.

Kudos to the people of Shirva for standing by this cause. May God grant them the strength and courage to fight for justice for Fr. Mahesh.

In the absence of a suicide note, it was imperative that an FIR was filed! How can the police take it as suicide just because family is saying so??

This is totally unnecessary from Shirva parish people. Jesus did not teach his followers to protest irrespective of what injustice may be done to them as he himself did not protest when he was taken to crucify nor his 12 deciples protest after Jesus death demanding justice from Roman empire. Christian life is of suffering and of sacrifice and not of protest and protesting nature. Thank you.

Jesus protested every injustice and even took a stick to chase people who concerted temple as market. world is bad not because of bad people but it is bad because silent good people. Peaceful protest is required for justice.

Please be informed, Jesus did not protest in any cases, he was just correcting people of that time about the truth by his teachings, also he chased down people in a temple on doing the wrong things at a right place. Protesting means agitating and demanding something, Jesus did not demand anything during his life time.

Christianity is to stand for truth and justice, justice to his parents, may be they are in a state of shock not able take any decisions regarding investigations, however we Christian always preach to give justice, let this be a role model in delivering justice. Let us shirva (mangalore) people be proud by investigating and delivering justice. Keep up shirva people your love and support for the deceased by pushing concerned authority take a step to justice . Also dear all pls pray every day that lord may show his way towards the investigation until case investigated

As per dictuonery protest meaning ' a statement or action expressing disapproval of or objection to something". Jesus disapproved hypocritical behaviour. He is revolutionist. Peaceful protest is part of democracy.

Rajesh Udipi,as you say Jesus didnt teach to protest, but preached to tell truth not lies not spread or talk bad about others.Unfortunately thats exactly happening. Thtaswhy the only way to protest against this .People are not doing this without aggressive ,harming.it is a silent. protest atleast till now..Here need not bring Jesus.Today things are not happening as per olden time. But since a suecide from a priest is very suspicious so truth must be given out.Till now nothing has comeout either from church side,or Govt.Officials.It should not be covered but investigated .Thats what people want to now.who were these suspiciously roaming about three ?people?who were seen in cctv.?

It is heartening to note that the people can't be taken for granted. We have been peace-loving and obedient and continue to be so. But don't consider that as our weaknesses. When it comes to fighting for justice, we will raise our voices against our own leaders if need be. Let the truth come out and prevail.
