Mangaluru, Oct 31: MBA graduate from Manipal Sikkim University, 26-year-old Jessel D’Souza has made her political debut with BJP giving her ticket for MCC polls from Bendur constituency.
"I am joining BJP today and making my political debut because there are lot of opportunities and support in today in India for the youth. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always given strong support for youth and their betterment. He is an inspiration and a person worth emulating. He is doing great job for the growth of the country in every spheres. I want to leave behind the caste, community and religion cards and contest the MCC elections. This is my first step to serve the people of Mangaluru city,” said Jessel speaking to Daijiworld.
Before her MBA, she did her pre-university studies at St Agnes PU College Bendur and later studied at SDM college of Business Management in city. She is well known among the youth of Bendur locality as she has been always active in the youth and cultural activities.
She is a Tritiya Sopan guide who has also completed her services in Rastrapathi guides and has been involved in social activities. She has also been giving various talks on surviving and fighting cancer .
Daughter of Peter Alwyn D’Souza and Flany D’Souza, Jessel D’Souza is married to Dr Ryan Castelino who is a dentist by profession.
"As the youth can be voice to all the people from the young to the senior citizens it’s ideal to make sure that the best candidate with good education wins. The winner should be the one who attends to any of people’s grievances within no time" feels Jessel.
"Youths should be given chance to represent people as the future of the nation is with them. This is the best chance for people to choose the well educated and committed ones,” she adds,
"I will very soon come out with my development plan for Bendur ward. I want to serve the people without any discrimination," she declares.
She is facing long serving corporator Naveen D’Souza in Bendur constituency.
