26-year-old Jessel D’Souza makes political debut with BJP ticket in MCC polls

Daijiworld Media Network

Mangaluru, Oct 31: MBA graduate from Manipal Sikkim University, 26-year-old Jessel D’Souza has made her political debut with BJP giving her ticket for MCC polls from Bendur constituency.

"I am joining BJP today and making my political debut because there are lot of opportunities and support in today in India for the youth. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has always given strong support for youth and their betterment. He is an inspiration and a person worth emulating. He is doing great job for the growth of the country in every spheres. I want to leave behind the caste, community and religion cards and contest the MCC elections. This is my first step to serve the people of Mangaluru city,” said Jessel speaking to Daijiworld.

Before her MBA, she did her pre-university studies at St Agnes PU College Bendur and later studied at SDM college of Business Management in city. She is well known among the youth of Bendur locality as she has been always active in the youth and cultural activities.

She is a Tritiya Sopan guide who has also completed her services in Rastrapathi guides and has been involved in social activities. She has also been giving various talks on surviving and fighting cancer .

Daughter of Peter Alwyn D’Souza and Flany D’Souza, Jessel D’Souza is married to Dr Ryan Castelino who is a dentist by profession.

"As the youth can be voice to all the people from the young to the senior citizens it’s ideal to make sure that the best candidate with good education wins. The winner should be the one who attends to any of people’s grievances within no time" feels Jessel.

"Youths should be given chance to represent people as the future of the nation is with them. This is the best chance for people to choose the well educated and committed ones,” she adds,

"I will very soon come out with my development plan for Bendur ward. I want to serve the people without any discrimination," she declares.

She is facing long serving corporator Naveen D’Souza in Bendur constituency.

This is a first move by the BJP to form an inclusive governance. I think BJP is doing the right thing by giving party tickets to minorities. One can fight better by staying within the ring to get justice for Christians. All the best to young and energetic youth candidate - Jessel D'Souza.

My dear Christians of Bendore ward..This is a clear ploy to divide the Christian community by BJP.

Be very careful while voting. Do not go by anything else. If the present corporator has done well kindly support him.

BJP is following divide and rule policy of British and trying to break our community. They have given ticket to long-serving Congress corporator Asha D'Silva also immediately when she was not given ticket in Congress.

    Be united my fellow brethern.

India was divided when Congress was in rule!
Till 2014 Congress was in rule for 70years. We should have atleast been a middle income state like Mexico or Malaysia, but here we are as a poor country.
You accuse BJP of communism etc, but never condemn jihadis who r hellbent to destroy our country. Evangelists who are thoroughly converting poor backward Hindus in rural India. I know you want Sonia Gandhi to rule India under Italian stamp. That's it. That means no respect to local value system. That comes from a superiority complex that Hindus are low-level people. In depth of your mind you only hate Hindus, all these drama of secularism is for timesake. The propaganda is big, at one side jihadis Wana make India as caliphate on other hand you guys want to make it Vatican. But believe me since 2014, things have started to change. 2019 was confirmation. All your foul plots against Hindus will be failed

Please mention the social work , ;leadership skills in school college or church that she has done or at the least worked at any political party as a grass root level worker??? ZERO

If she is contesting as a youth Icon first please be an example and have a steady job and have enough to pay for your bills, otherwise she will be another scam who will be paying back your loans through public money.

Humble request to people of this ward PLEASE THINK BEFORE YOU VOTE. This girl is just Another Scapegoat for certain people in BJP( Not All) . There have been people who have worked for your ward and are available when you need ,do not forget them just for someone saying women youth icon and Catholic.

We must encourage our youth to work ethically at their jobs first, Manage their families and then later do social service with their money and not peoples.

dear friend , agreed to what you have commented, but the corporators of certain areas are old, could you kindly highlight on the works done by the so called experienced or the leaders who have been elected for 3 or 4 terms, one work they have done iis they have increased their assets and their cash balances, she is much more educated than the leaders we have today, what can we expect leaders who know nothing about themselves and we elect such people and regret, i dont think we will get a chance to regret, but definetely lets support, her with our suggestions and experience,!A young horse is far better than an old aged donkey!

    Dear Alwyn,
Firstly are you even from Bendore ward to comment? Also just because she has a correspondence MBA does not mean she is very well educated. With experience comes education and with age comes wisdom. I do not think that you have come to bendore area a lot ask the people there who has been available and who has been working for the past 15 years . And so what if they make money as long as they work , how many of us are faithful to our own bosses and cheat them at work but as long as you are working your boss doesnt care right?? So let her concentrate on her family and finances first. she should start with social service from her money then let her enter into politics

it seems this lady is thoroughly brain washed by BJP. There is no way that Christians or Muslims will get any coveted posts in BJP because it is a manuvadi party which favours only brahmins. Even among Hindus lower caste people are not given plum positions.

The people of this ward should be very careful while voting. If Naveen has done a good job (I think he is a hard working person) they should vote him and do not go by this drama of the BJP.

Whoever joins a political party gets tainted heavily with corruption, cheating and lot of other things.

The reason for that is, when you are in the midst of wolves, you cannot stay as a lamb but, you need to become one of them....that is how our Indian political field plays.

I can see that you have come from a God fearing great family. I pray that you remain steadfast in your work and remain clean from the vagaries of plague of our Indian political parties. Wish you the best.
