Bagalkot, Oct 28: BJP MLA, Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, who had earlier earned the wrath of the party leadership a number of times, poured out his anger against the central government. It may be recalled that Yatnal had recently been issued show cause notice by the party for his outburst against BJP MPs on the issue of flood relief.
Patil, unfazed by the notice, has criticized the central government again on the issue of flood relief. He said that BJP's unimpressive performance in Maharashtra and Haryana was the cause of not disbursing suitable compensation.
Speaking at Banahatti in the district after inaugurating Sidhisiri Saharda Society's branch there on Saturday, Yatnal said that he had written to the centre, drawing the attention of the government about the need to handle the flood situation in Maharashtra and Karnataka, and release enough compensation. He said that wrong signal got conveyed to the voters as funds were not released.
At the same time, he reminded the centre that the affected farmers are not beggars. "These farmers are strong enough. Because of severe floods, they are in a pitiable condition. Therefore, it is the duty of the government to provide them justifiable relief," he demanded.
