Udupi, Oct 27: A press meet was conducted by Pramod Madhwaraj, former MLA of Udupi, in which he opposed the tweet made by Raghupati Bhat, MLA of Udupi in which Bhat had mentioned that the Government Tool Room Trading Centre (GTTC) in Uppoor was established with the support of MP Shobha Karandlaje.
The press meet was held at Press Club Udupi on October 26.
Pramod Madhwaraj said that during his tenure as MLA, Uppoorr and Belapu were shortlisted for starting a Mangalore University PG Center. Belapu was finally chosen by Mangalore University for setting up the PG Centre as Uppoor was considered as a hilly region. Raghupati Bhat had commented that the Madhwaraj was not able to bring PG centre to Uppor and he has given false assurances. But Belapu was chosen over Uppoor because of demographic reasons.
Pramod also said that he promised the public of Uppoor that with the help of government he will set up an GTTC Center in Uppoor for which a minimum qualification of SSLC is required and it is going to be a job oriented and job guaranteed as the GTTC certificate has value. But today MP Shobha Karandlaje is claiming that the GTTC Centre was established by her. Pramod Madhwaraj presented the documents to support that GTTC Centre and the works regarding it was done in the tenure of Pramod Madhwaraj.
Pramod also said that road blocks often take place in Malpe-Adipudi highway. There are lots of problems in NH 169A from Manipal to Parkala. No developments or measures are taken by Shobha Karandlaje. Hardly any work is done by her. She just justifies or claims work done by others as the work done by her. Shobha Karandlaje had referred Siddaramaiah as a cheap politician. But claiming the credit for the work done by others clearly shows who is cheap. “Instead of claiming others’ work as theirs, I request Raghupati Bhat and Shobha Karandlaje to sanction the funds and develop Uppoor ground where many students play,” said the former minister.
Janardhana Thonse, Ramesh Kanchan, Sathish Amin Padukere, Dinakar Heroor and Janardhana Bhandarkar were present.
