Sand distribution officially inaugurated in Byndoor taluk

Byndoor, Oct 20: "The common people were suffering a lot to build houses as sand was not available. Under the government scheme only Rs 1.2 lac is available to build a house. Out of this one had to pay a staggering amount of Rs 60,000 for sand. Five MLAs of Udupi district had spoken to union minister Dr Harshavardhan regarding this issue. As a result of our talks, after two years, the people of the taluk have got the opportunity of getting sand officially. This is the blessings of God," said Byndoor MLA B M Sukumar Shetty.

Sukumar Shetty was speaking after inaugurating the sand distribution officially on Sunday, October 20. From October 28, the sand will be distributed officially from the center. Halnadu sand distribution center will distribute sand for the whole constituency of Byndoor.

Zilla panchayat member Jyoti M, taluk panchayat member Ambika, Youth Meridien hotel owner Udaya Kumar Shetty Bailoor, Kandloor gram panchayat president Gauri Sriyan, Milk producers association Haddur president Rajiv Shetty, H Devananda Shetty Halnadu, Narasimha Poojary, Panchayat member Prakashchandra Shetty, Harkur Chittaranjan Hegde, zilla panchayat member Rohit Kumar Shetty and Deepak Kumar Shetty were present.
