Bantwal, Aug 4: The newly-built trauma care unit located opposite the taluk community hospital here, which was constructed at a cost of Rs 25 lac, has been ready for over five months and still awaits inauguration.
The state administration has not even thought of providing medical equipment and staff, despite spending lacs of rupees on readying the building.
The community hospital authorities have already forwarded a list of necessary medical apparatus and requisitioned health assistants and doctors. As per government directives, the trauma unit was supposed to serve the people round-the-clock.
The state government had sanctioned Rs 25 lac that was used to ready the building.
The trauma care unit will be of great help to victims of all sorts of accidents and must essentially be equipped with medical equipment, qualified doctors, and assistants.
Else, it’s of no help to the residents of the taluk who await the government’s initiative in making available all infrastructure and service at the earliest.
