Kuwait: Henon Aranha elected president of SACAA


Kuwait, Oct 16: Henon Aranha was elected president of SACAA (St Aloysius College Alumni Association), Kuwait for, the term 2019-2021 during its Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) held at Avanti Palace, Salmiya, Kuwait. The AGM was hosted by the executive committee members of the previous term under the leadership of the outgoing president, Kiran Sunny.

SACAA Kuwait founded by Archie Menezes came into existence over 11 years ago when like-minded Aloysian alumni based in Kuwait felt the need to bond together and relive those memories and importantly support the Alma Mater wherever possible.

The proceedings began with a brief self-introduction of every member present followed by the outgoing president Kiran Sunny welcoming everyone to the gathering. This was followed by the treasurer's report given by Lloyd Mendonca who had accounted for the various events that were conducted during the last two years amounting to various events and areas of expenditure.

Following are the members elected as office bearers for the term 2019-2021:

• President – Henon Aranha
• Vice-president – Clement Fernandes
• Treasurer – Neville D’Souza
• General secretary – Brian Martis
• Secretary, member affairs – Reshma Lobo
• Sports and cultural secretary – Anand D’Souza
• Secretary, public relations – Harrison Monteiro

The elections for the new committee were conducted by the election commissioner Anand D’Souza, a senior SACAA member.

Henon Aranha, the newly-elected president in his inaugural message asked for the entire SACAA alumni fraternity residing in Kuwait for their wholehearted support and cooperation to make this a successful and memorable term.

The new committee assured members of dedicatedly carrying out their assigned duties and responsibilities as office-bearers of SACAA Kuwait, by conducting various social, cultural and community based developmental activities that would promote the primary purpose of the association, that is to give an opportunity to the Kuwait-based Aloysian alumni to network amongst each other, bringing together both senior and young members.

The AGM and elections was articulated by Henon Aranha and concluded with a delectable dinner catered by Avanti Palace.

All non-registered Aloysian alumni residing in Kuwait are kindly requested to register their names as members of SACAA Kuwait by emailing their details to sacaaq8@gmail.com.

In addition, constant updates regarding the association and its activities are provided to registered members through a WhatsApp group.

    Congratulations Henon Aranha and the new office bearers of SACAA Kuwait. We wish you all the best in your new responsibility. I am sure your dedication and commitment will take the association to a greater height.
    I am glad to see new young faces in this team. That is what is required for the continuity and sustainability of SACAA Kuwait. Kiran Sunny and his team deserves all the appreciation for the good work done in their two year term.
