Dubai: Decennial celebration of Padmashali community held in grand style

Dubai, Oct 15: The Sri Satyanaraya Pooja and 'Nala-Damayanti', Yakshagana Talamaddale, which was held as part of stepping into the decennial year celebration of Padmashali Samudaya Dubai, was held with religious fervour and discipline at the auditorium of Bilva School of Ghusais near here.

The Sri Satyanarayana Pooja started at 3 pm exactly under the priesthood of Hariprasad Tantri and all the Vedic rituals were held as per tradition in front of a crowd of the Padmashali community that was led by Ravi Shettigar, president of the community. Devotional songs (Bhajans) were sung by male and female members as well as children of the community.



After the pooja, Nala-Damayanti Yakshagana Talamaddale was held. Yakshdhruva Patla Satish Shetty and main Bhagavath of Sunkadakatte troupe Karunakar Shettigar Kashipatna led the Baghavathike. Guest artistes Padmanabha Upadhyaya and Dayananda Shettigar played the Chende-Maddale. In addition, senior artistes of Dubai Yakshagana Abhyasa Taragathi Bhavani Shankar Sharma and Puttige Venkatesha Shastry participated as Chende-Maddale players. Sachin Amin Udyavar cooperated on the Chakratala.
