Mangaluru, Oct 12: Deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district Sindhu B Rupesh, said that the voters have an opportunity to verify the electoral rolls till October 15. She was addressing a press conference here on Friday October 11.
"The electoral rolls which were prevalent during the previous Lok Sabha election are being revised as there have been complaints about mistakes in the list, missing names, inclusion of names of deceased voters etc. She said that the scrutiny of rolls is going on to correct deficiencies and mistakes if any.
She said that block level officials will be conducting door-to-door visits during this period, adding that the people can verify the lists and get changes or corrections made therein by providing any of the documents approved by the election commission.
"Scrutiny can be done through website and App too. Voters can also visit Seva Sindhu Kendra, voters’ registration officer or assistant voters’ registration officer's office for verification. During these visits, they can get changes in names, mistakes in photos, details of family members etc made," she explained.
She said that out of eight assembly constituencies in the district only 10.3 percent people have scrutinized their voter lists. She advised the people to visit 'voter helpline' mobile app or web portal, www.nvsp.in.
