Bengaluru, Oct 11: Congress general secretary in-charge of Karnataka K C Venugopal, met former minister D K Shivakumar, who has been lodged in Tihar jail since the last three weeks, on Thursday October 10. He was accompanied by Shivakumar's brother and MP D K Suresh. The two held discussions with Shivakumar for about 30 minutes.
It is said that Venugopal assured Shivakumar of full moral support from the party during his hour of crisis. He also is said to have promised to give him a responsible position in the party once he comes out of the prison. Shivakumar was earlier hoping to get the post of the leader of the opposition which has gone to Siddaramaiah.
Speaking to media persons later, Venugopal said that case registered against Shivakumar was purely backed by political moves. He said that he is confident that Shivakumar will come out of these things.
