Puttur, Oct 11: Relating to the alleged gang rape of a girl student of a private college in the city by five fellow students, the police have filed chargesheet in the court.
The accused in the case happen to be Gurunandan (19) from Bajathur Ganadamane in the taluk, Prajwall (19), resident of Perne in Bantwal taluk, Kishen (19) from Kadambu, Sunil (19) from Aryapu Piligunda in Puttur taluk and Prakhyath (19) from Barimaru Balya in Bantwal taluk.
Deputy superintendent of police of the subdivision here, Dinakar Shetty, who led the investigation, filed the chargesheet in the court here.
The above students have been charged with accompanying the aggrieved girl in a car during March this year to a desolate spot where they are said to have gang raped her. They also recorded the rape in cell phone. Sometime later, allegedly on account of some differences and misunderstanding between the students, a piece of video was shared in social website.
The police, who registered the case, took up probe under the directions of the district superintendent of police and arrested all the five accused.
