Many tableaux carrying artistes performing tiger dances, mythological scenes, still pictures, DJs, other dancers etc began the journey on Tuesday evening, which will traverse a nine-kilometer route via Lady Hill, PVS Circle, Hampankatta and Car Street before reaching back Lord Gokarnanatheswara Temple at Kudroli on Wednesday morning.

People, who lined up streets through which the procession went, feasted on the scenes to their hearts content through their eyes.

There are some changes in the procession this year as decided by the temple authorities. The trucks carrying Sharada idol moved first and Navadurga idols were carried after that, followed by other tableaux. Every year tableaux moved first followed by Navadurga and Sharada.

    Dear DC,

Henceforth kindly see that all festival processions should be conducted on main roads and before 10 pm.They should not enter the residential places where quite a number of senior and old aged people are sleeping. Let them enjoy the festival without disturbing senior citizens by loud sound.

There is no religious feeling, there is no discipline or line maintained, people just push each other and take pictures. Everyone should get an opportunity to see/pray. This is the reason no ladies or women you can see nor they can attend for such procession or celebrations.

I also watched the procession. I felt it is more like show of strength of certain groups in the Billava community rather than the actual fervour of the religious fest.

anyway happy belated Dasara to all.
