After the death of his wife about 15 years ago, he never visited his native place, Rajasthan. His two sons were living with him in Govandi and after they went to better housing, this man declined to go to live with them. though they requested him, as per report.

All the 8.77 lakh worth FDs have the nomination of his elder son who is presently in Rajasthan. Though, bank gives money to the nominee, under the law, it belongs to all dependents and the nominee is a trustee on their behalf. Since this man died intestate (without written will) all his sons and daughters can claim the amount through court. His other son lives in Vikhroli, Mumbai. But, now another 3 people have come forward claiming they are his sons and brother.

Poor fellow begged until his last breath... But... Whatever he accumulated by begging, by hearing bad words etc etc. went in waste... he could not enjoy his wealth in his last days... To the notice of the concerned authorities... Don't give his money to his relatives.. Donate to the needy... handicapped... bed ridden people for their medicines and survival.. May the departed soul of Mr. Birju Chandra rest in peace.
