IMD issues thunderstorm warning for Goa

Panaji, Oct 7: IMD has issued warning about thunderstorms for the next three days. The phenomenon is expected to have a speed of 20 knots. It will be accompanied by lightning and strong winds.

The forecast also warns of heavy rain for some areas. IMD Panaji official, Krishnamurty Padgalwar stated that people can keep themselves updated by warnings issued by Nowcast.

Sanguem recorded the highest rainfall of 100.2mm during last 24 hours while two other centres, Canacona and Quepem also recorded heavy rainfall of 67mm and 65mm. Ponda recorded 25mm, Margao 22.3mm while other centres received below 10mm.
