Chitradurga, Oct 7: “Is former CM H D Kumaraswamy is the prime minister of the country to announce that no flood relief funds will be given by the center in the second phase?” questioned an irate B S Yediyurappa, chief minister of Karnataka.
Yediyurappa spoke to the scribes as he had come to partake in the Sharana Sanskriti Utsava of the Muruga Math. He further said, "The central government has released Rs 1,200 crore for flood relief as the first instalment. Former CM Kumaraswamy is giving statements out of frustration. He is unsatisfied and unhappy also. Kumaraswamy is the former chief minister of Karnataka. He should talk irresponsibly. The decision on providing flood relief to the state is in the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi or H D Kumaraswamy?"
"As a first instalment Rs 1,200 crore is sent to the state from the center. In the month of November and December more funds will be released by the central government. The crop lost by the farmers will be assessed and compensation will be distributed accordingly," said Yediyurappa.
