Power dues for Opa water plant amounts to Rs 30 crore, PWD minister calls it faulty

Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji (SHP)

Panaji, Oct 3: PWD minister, Deepak Pauskar has claimed that the outstanding dues of the Opa water treatment plant were inflated and are to be revised. This statement has come after power minister Nilesh Cabral threatened to cut the power supply to the plant.

The total payable amount is mounting up to Rs 30 crore. As per Pauskar, the amount should be around Rs 15 crore and asked for their revision.

The Opa plant supplies 116MLD treated water every day to Tiswadi and Ponda taluka. Therefore, the power cut would mean no water supply to these areas.
