Goa: State transport department inaugurates HSRP replacement

Panaji, Sep 2: Officials from the state transport department inaugurated the initiative to replace number plates on vehicles registered prior to April 1 with high security registration plates (HSRP) at the state regional transport office here on Monday.

The HSRP contractor, Real Mazon India Ltd began accepting the appointments from 9.30 am onwards. On the first day, 28 vehicle-owners applied tokens at the RTO for installing the number plate.

The Panaji RTO kept a Honda Amaze car, the first high security number plate fitted vehicle, outside the office throughout the day.

So many people queued up at the HSRP counter stationed inside Panaji RTO office at Paryatan Bhavan, Patto. “Anyone can come for the installation as long as they have their RC book or vehicle registration smart card. A person can fit the HSRP at any jurisdiction which is feasible for them,” a transport official said, as reported in TOI.
