Two expat graduate students assaulted at Quepem

Panaji, Sep 19: Quepem police filed a non-cognisable offence against some unidentified persons on Tuesday for alledgedly assaulting two foreign nationals, pursuing their graduation in Goa.

Police told TOI reporters that the students were attacked while walking to their rooms near the Amona road junction. “The two accused apparently tried to engage the students in a conversation, but probably owing to language barrier, the accused found their replies offensive and hit them before fleeing from the spot,” police sources explained, as per TOI report.

However, the students could not notice the registration number of the two-wheeler ridden by the accused. They filed a complaint with the Quepem police on Wednesday. The police have booked a non-cognisable offence against the unknown accused under provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
