London, Jul 14: Manchester City confirmed that they have signed the Argentina forward, Carlos Tevez.
The 25-year-old, who left Manchester United when his loan deal expired at the end of last season, is thought to have signed a five-year deal.
"It is terrific news," manager Mark Hughes was quoted as saying on the club's website Monday. "Carlos is an international player of the highest class who possesses all the attributes that will help drive this club forward.
"He is not only outstanding technically, but he is a reliable goalscorer and someone who will contribute fully to the team ethic. He gives us another exciting attacking dimension."
City continued to be linked with moves for Arsenal forward Emmanuel Adebayor and Chelsea defender John Terry.
