Mumbai, Jul 7: The shareholders of Rajapur Saraswat (RS) Co-operative Bank recently elected its directors in a meeting held in suburban Dombivli and Borivli here.
The group led by the bank’s current chairman Kacheri Sadanand D Nayak secured a majority. Thus, Nayak retained his chairmanship for the third consecutive term.
The group led by Gopal Kamat and D S Nayak were defeated. Umesh Bhat, Vittal D Nayak, Raghunat N Nayak, Mahendra T Nayak, Suresh D Nayak, Raghavendra S Nayak, Upendra N Kamat, Nityanand B Naik, Ramanand S Nayak, Prakash Shevde, and women contestants Rama Sudakar Nayak and Kala Pradeep Nayak who contested under the general category led by Sadanand Nayak also won.
Sadanand Nayak led 13 candidates of the total 17 who contested the polls. Narayan Srinivas Nayak, Ramesh Anant Naik, Santosh Totaram Sonavane, and Rohit R Ovale were unanimously elected under the reserved category ahead of the polls.
The shareholders of the R S Co-operative Bank live all over the metro and the bank has plans to open its fifth branch in the central suburb of Kalyan shortly.
Sadanand Nayak expressed his gratitude to the shareholders for their continued support in the polls.
Election officer R S Lokande announced the poll results in the presence of bank CEO Shashikant L Abhang, assistant election officer Sunil Dhondke, and M N Chates.
