Mangaluru, Sep 9: The traffic police here, after finding that the driver of a private bus was talking over mobile phone when driving, imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on him. The incident happened at Jokatte Cross here.
Police personnel of the city (north) traffic police station were engaged in checking of vehicles near Jokatte Cross. At around 7 pm on Saturday, they saw that the driver of a private vehicle which came that way was conversing on his mobile phone. The police stopped the bus and collected hefty fine as above.

The latest changes brought to the Motor Vehicles Act came into force in the city from Saturday, September 7 onward.
