Udupi, Sep 5: “Don’t waste time thinking about my political career, instead think about people in your constituency,” advised former Congress MLA Pramod Madhwaraj in a voice message to Udupi MLA Raghupati Bhat.
Madhwaraj’s dig comes after Bhat ridiculed him on Thursday for joining back Congress after quitting JD(S).
MLA Bhat earlier had said, "If Pramod Madhwaraj applies for BJP membership in future, there is a possibility of considering the same."
“You have failed as an MLA. You have never kept up to your promises. People are aware that you won only using Modi wave and Hindutva politics. You had promised to resolve the sand mining issue, within one month after you come into power. This is still not fulfilled. The only development works that are continuing are the ones, I had started when I was MLA and minister. Even here, you have stopped some development works. Hence, stop concentrating on my political career and work for people in the remaining days you are in power,” Madhwaraj lashed out.
When Congress and JD(S) were ruling as a coalition, Madhwaraj had contested 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency on Janata Dal (Secular) ticket. After the coalition dissolved, Madhwaraj quit JD(S) and joined back Congress.
