Bengaluru, Sep 5: The state high court, on Wednesday September 4, dismissed cases filed against 11 persons including minister, C T Ravi. The allegation against Ravi and others was that they had entered the office of the district deputy commissioner and caused loss to public property when holding a protest demonstration, urging the state government to issue licences to extract and transport sand.

The single bench of the state high court presided over by Justice P S Dinesh Kumar upheld the petitions and ordered to dismiss the cases filed.

Personnel of the town police station in Chikkamagaluru, in the year 2014, had registered first information report against 11 persons including Ravi, accusing them of forming illegal assembly in the name of protest, forcing their way into the office of the deputy commissioner, and causing damage to public property besides attacking a woman police sub inspector.
