Chikkamagaluru, Sep 4: "Congress has stooped down to the present level by losing the sympathy of the public. They have lost sympathy by these kinds of protests again and again. People do not have sympathy for Congress leaders anymore," said MP Shobha Karandlaje ridiculing the protest by the Congress party against the arrest of former minister D K Shivakumar.
Speaking to the reporters in the city, Shobha said, "D K Shivakumar was arrested in accordance with the law. The investigating organizations have made deep study and inquiry of the issue. The arrest might be based on those proofs. Several arrests have happened in the 70-year history of independent India. We have not formed ED or CBI. Congress is responsible for the formation of these organizations,"
"It is confusing as to whom the protest of Congress is intended to? In whose side are they? Why they are with them? Are all the arrests they made earlier are politically motivated? Congress has to answer all these questions. The people who are asking questions have to answer those," said Shobha.
MP Shobha further said, "D K Shivakumar is not an ordinary person. He is an influential leader. He will not be arrested without any strong reason. There will be strong evidence for his arrest. We have the evidence in front of our eyes today as to the amount that is looted during the UPA regime in the country. Some have been already punished. Others are on the verge of getting punished. If the Congress supports such people, it would be like ridiculing the system." concluded Shobha.
