Installation of 142 CCTV cameras approved for Goa Medical College

Panaji, Sep 4: For enhanced security, Goa Medical College (GMC) got the approval for installation of 142 CCTV cameras. The Goa state infrastructure development corporation (GSIDC) passed this proposal in a board meeting. 

The GSIDC board will take up the supply, installation, testing, and implementation of a CCTV system at GMC. 

An estimated amount of Rs 49 lac will be approved for the purpose. Ever since Vishwajit Rane assumed responsibility as the health minister, he assured strengthening the quality of service at GMC.

According to one of the doctors from GMC, CCTV is one of the necessities in healthcare. One of the other measures announced by the government is a system to facilitate booking appointments. However, that measure is still in the process of getting implemented.
