AAP MLA Alka Lamba meets Sonia Gandhi, rumours rife of joining Congress

New Delhi, Sep 3: Alka Lamba, the disgruntled AAP MLA met Sonia Gandhi, UPA chairperson and interim president of AICC on Tuesday, September 3 at her residence in the city. Rumours are making rounds that she is likely to join the Congress party given the strained relations she has with her party for the past several months.

Delhi is going for assembly polls in the year 2020. AAP had a landslide victory in 2015. Alka Lamba, in her statement in August had said that she is going to resign to the primary membership of AAP party and contest the next assembly elections as an independent candidate from the constituency of Chandni Chowk. The officer bearers of the AAP party are also ready to accept her resignation.

Alka Lamba was unceremoniously removed from the WhatsApp group of the lawmakers of the AAP party when she asked for accountability from Arivind Kejriwal, chief minister of Delhi and party supremo after the debacle of the party in the last Lok Sabha polls.

Alka Lamba stayed away from the campaigning of the party during the Lok Sabha polls and did not participate in the road show of Kejriwal, in which she had to walk behind the car of Kejriwal;s car.

Lamba was asked to resign from the party in April this year through a taunt by AAP spokesperon Saurabh Bhardwaj, with whom she had a spat on Twitter.

Praveen, dont be misinformed. PM never said that.., he said that if bilateral relations and agreements favor between India and Swiss nation to curb black money then only it is possible to get black money . Black money if so successfully curbed then it can be to the tune of 15 lakhs to every Indian Citizen.
