Panaji, Sep 2: The meteorological department here forecasted heavy rainfall in the state for four days till September 5, warning fishermen not to venture into sea.

IMD Panaji forecasted above normal rainfall this year. A joint effect of cyclonic circulation over Madhya Pradesh and Bay of Bengal brought heavy rainfall in parts of Goa that reached the mark of 130 inch on September 1.

The season is likely to witness heaviest rain in a decade.
