Mangaluru: Seven people of Kerala origin arrested for possessing 1.1 kg ganja

Mangaluru, Sep 1: Ullal police inspector Gopikrishna K R, ASIs Gurappa Kanti, Vinayaka Toragal and personnel in cooperation with anti-rowdy squad arrested seven people on the accusation of possessing ganja on Saturday, August 31. The police have confiscated 1.103 kg of ganja worth Rs 41,000, a Bullet bike worth Rs one lac, six mobile phones worth Rs 23,000 and Rs 460 in cash.

The arrested accused, all of Kerala origin are, Mohammed Sinan P (21), son of Abdul Nasir, a resident of Palayatil House, Parambinte Mukul, Kokkalur post of Calicut, Hafiz Amin ()21), son of Akbal Ali, a resident of Kannattapadakil House, Kundaliyoor post, Thrissur district, Zuhair K P (21), son of Zubair T P, a resident of Baitool Iza, Nellooni Mattanoor post, Kannur district, Adarsh (20), son of Prem Raj, a resident of Ramanathurakkara Perook, Calicut, Mohammed Nihal R K (20), sone of Moideen Kutti P K, a resident of Shamim Manzil, Chungam Thamareshera post, Kozhikode, Bishrul Hafee (20) son of Ashraf V P, a resident of Vengoli Puratta House, Mattancheri post, Narikunni, Kozhikode and Zakhir Ali P (22) son of Abdul Samad K K, a resident of Pudiyadathil House, Narikunni post, Kozhikode.

A case under No 99/2019 Column 8(C), 20 (b)(ii) B NDPS act is registered on the accused and investigation is in progress. All the accused are students of Engineering and are known to sell ganja around the medical college campuses.

This raid was conducted under the direction of commissioner of police Dr P S Harsha, guided by Arunagyu Giri, DCP, law and Laxmiganesha, DCP, crime and traffic under the leadership of ACP of Mangalur south sub-division T Kodandarama.
