Udupi, Jun 30: Sri Krishna Vidyapeetha, which will offer a four-year course with emphasis on studying Bhagawad Gita, was inaugurated here on Sunday June 28. This is one of the ambitious projects of the Paryaya Mutt Swamiji Sri Sugunendrateertha. Initially, 20 children from Meghalaya will get education in Sanskrit and Gita at the institution.
Paryaya Puttige Mutt will bear expenses like fee, board and lodging facilities of the students. Local students also have an opportunity to join the course. Classes will be held from 3.30 to 6 pm. The students can undergo the classes after their school hours.
The course will include memorizing chapters of the Gita, learning the hymns, their meanings, stories connected thereof etc. Pejawar Mutt Swamiji Sri Vishweshateertha who inaugurated the scheme, said that the Gita, which is like a constitution of the mankind, should be propagated all over the world.
Various Swamijis were present on the occasion.
