Mangaluru, Aug 29: A programme to congratulate newly appointed state BJP president and MP Nalin Kumar Kateel was held by district BJP unit at TV Raman Pai auditorium, Kodialbail on Thursday, August 29. Nalin Kumar was extended a cordial welcome at the grand event.
Addressing the gathering, Nalin said that he will remain the activist of the sangh for the people in the district regardless of the position bestowed on him. He said, “I am not a scholar. The party has given high position to me as I am a sincere worker of the party. I will shoulder the responsibility with dedication.
“I am indebted to the people of Mangaluru. I will never forget your love showered on me by electing me thrice with huge margin. I will work for the progress of the state and for the unity of the party in the future also.
“I will work with the help of chief minister Yediyurappa and will take the name of the state to the peak,” he said.
District BJP president Pratap Simha Nayak said, “The MP of our district is bestowed the most responsible position in the state. We are confident that he will shoulder the responsibility the way he did when he had other positions. BJP has shown that it has the capacity to take bold decisions for the benefit of the country. May the state improve under the leadership of Nalin Kumar Kateel,” he said.
Former MLA Rukmayya Poojary said that Nalin has done good work during the last five years and worked to bring grant for different projects in the district. “The position is given to him considering his work. May the almighty give him enough strength to take the party forward,” he said.
MLA of Sullia, S Angara, said that BJP is a unique party. “The party can progress only when the minds and feelings of party activists are one. We should help and encourage Nalin Kumar by being so,” he said.
Captain Ganesh Karnik said that the time to take decisions that are conducive for the growth of the country has come. “The government has bestowed most important post to Nalin Kumar Kateel. The party will be stronger under his leadership,” he said.
Newly appointed Karnataka minister of ports and fisheries, Kota Srinivas Poojary said that it is a matter of pride that an ordinary campaigner of the party is appointed to the position of party president. “I congratulate Nalin for his dedication in work,” he said.
