Goa government to give Rs 10,000 for every flood affected household

Panaji, Aug 29: Goa government has decided to monetarily compensate every household affected by the floods with Rs 10,000.

Besides this, those involved in rescue operations will be honoured. The chief minister stated that the government will pay extra if the victims find the amount insufficient.

Goa State Disaster Management Fund (GSDMF) scheme will pay the relief amount. If a victim receives Rs 7,500 from (GSDMF), the Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) will pay Rs 5,000.

The additional amount will not be provided to the beneficiaries, but it will be sent through the local MLAs within two days.

Sawant assured that crop losses suffered in the deluge will be addressed soon as the financial assessment of the losses is done.
