Daijiworld Media Network - Karkala (SP)

Karkala, Aug 29: A shopkeeper here, who used to get gold ornaments made and sold them, was cheated by some people who sold him fake gold by making him believe that they were genuine. However, the realization came much later.

In a complaint filed in the town police station here, Sudheer from Karkala Casba village stated that Vajresh Kumar from the town, Iqbal from Moodbidri, Javed from Kasargod, Ashfaq Akbar from Belur, Lokesh from Mudigere and Sachin from Chikkamagaluru had showed him samples of gold. They received Rs 25 lac from him on May 14 this year and handed over to him fake gold instead of genuine, he said. The police have registered the case.

Sudheer tried to get the above gold melted for getting ornaments made on August 27. He said he realized then that he had been taken for a ride.

It's unlikely that a professional jeweller who scubs even 1gram gold piece also to check its purity is getting cheated for such a large amount of gold. Here it is Dhoodh ka Paisa Dhoodh meh aur Pani Ka Paisa Pani meh. None of these street side jewellery /ornaments shop owners ever supply pure 916 hall mark gold to any of their customers.

Gold mein bhi gol-maal...abaabba..to whom we can believe. When people like Halala Mansoor Khan can keep gold bar beneath swimming pool and fool our intelligent peace loving citizens..why not these people. Society itself become full of cheaters.
