Mangaluru, Aug 28: Two accused relating to two cases of stealing of petroleum products by drilling hole into the HPCL pipeline between the city and Bengaluru and siphoning off the petroleum products, have been arrested.
The said cases were registered in Bajpe police station. The arrested men happen to be Armugam (39) from Marakada Ramanagara here and Ramesh (35) from Basavanagara, Marakada. They were arrested by the police from near Vamanjoor check post here on the night of Monday, August 26.
During their questioning, both reportedly confessed that they had joined hands with their accomplices, drilled hole in the pipeline, and tried to steal petrol. The pipes used by them for the said thefts were seized. They were produced in the court on Tuesday whereupon the court remanded them to 15 days judicial custody.
