Mysuru, Aug 28: BJP Karnataka state vice president and Chamarajanagar MP, V Srinivas Prasad, has questioned the rationale behind the creation of three posts of deputy chief minister in the state. He wanted to know from the party leadership why this initiative of creating inequality among ministers was undertaken. He reminded that there is no post of deputy chief minister as per Indian Constitution.
"As three posts of deputy chief minister were created, it has given rise to resentment and heartburn among the party legislators and ministers. Already there has been discontentment among some ministers over the portfolios allocated to them. The coalition government crashed because its partners fought among themselves on these lines. " he said.
"The state leaders should have given feedback about the situation in the state to the national leaders. The central leadership also should have taken all aspects into consideration before taking this decision. There is no question of who is responsible like Yediyurappa, Santhosh, etc. The chief minister and party leaders should sit together, discuss the matter, and see that the party legislators gel with each other well, and their discontentment is addressed. If possible, the decision should be reviewed," he demanded.
Prasad also reminded the leaders that the 17 legislators who brought BJP to power are now facing an uncertain future. He pointedly asked whether the BJP could have formed the government in the absence of their support and whether they had majority support without them.
