Bengaluru, Aug 27: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel took over charge from chief minister B S Yediyurappa, as the state president of BJP in a grand event on Tuesday, August 27.
CM B S Yediyurappa, who was the state president till now, handed over charge to Nalin Kumar Kateel.
Addressing the gathering, Nalin Kumar Kateel said, "I will not disappoint the expectations of party representatives and work efficiently as state BJP president. Under the guidance of senior party leaders and uniting everyone, I will work to strengthen the party.”
CM B S Yediyurappa gave over the charge to Nalin Kumar Kateel by handing over the party flag.

Bengaluru, Aug 27: Newly appointed state BJP president MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, who arrived from Delhi to the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in the city was given a grand welcome by the workers and leaders of state BJP.
MPs B N Bacchegowda, Muniswamy, Pratap Simha, MLAs Angara and chief organizing secretary Arun were among those who welcomed Nalin. The welcome also included Veeragase and Dollu traditional dance troupes of the state.
The whole KIA airport was draped in saffron due to the presence of thousands of BJP workers. Women activists of the party welcomed the new president with Aarati. Nalin Kumar Kateel will be taken in an open-jeep procession throughout the city. BJP MLAs and MPs will give him company.
The function of assuming of the position of Nalin Kumar Kateel will take place on the morning of August 27 in the BJP state office in the city. CM B S Yediyurappa, who was the state president till now, will hand over the charge to Nalin Kumar Kateel.
Nalin Kumar Kateel is elected as MP for the third consecutive time from the Lok Sabha constituency of Dakshina Kannada. He has worked as a full-time RSS Pracharak for 12 years. He was to assume the position as state president on Sunday, August 25. However, due to the demise of former central minister Arun Jaitley, the programme was postponed.
