Mangaluru: More than 15 fans, other equipment stolen from newly built Urwa market

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Aug 26: In an incident that shows the apathy of the city administration, more than 15 fans were stolen from the new and yet to be occupied Urwa market in the city.

It is suspected that along with 15 to 20 fans, many other equipment of the building are also stolen.

Urwa Market was built at an expense of Rs 13 crore. The construction of the building was completed two years ago. The building was inaugurated in January earlier this year.

However, the time has still not come for the same to be used by the vendors and the public.

The locals are saying that the apathy of the district administration and Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) is the reason for this theft. A case in this regard is registered at Urwa police station.

This building does not look worth for 13 crores. . How could such an expensive building built without security arrangements. First evaluate the cost account of the building with genuine valuers to find the loophole of the building throughout the process and construction.
