Hassan, Jun 27: District police arrested four persons involved in Panambur theft case in May and seized assets worth Rs 8.77 lac including two vehicles. The arrested have been identified as Ravi Nayak (21), Manju (25), Kumar (27) and Bhaskar (22) from Tarikere taluk. They were later produced in the court.
Speaking to media persons police officer Sharathchandra said that the four were also involved in burglary case reported at Kyanahalli farm house in Sakleshpur taluk. Four accomplices of the persons arrested have been absconding and efforts are on to trace them, he said.
It can be recalled here that in an incident of burglary held at HML Lorry Office, Panambur on May 22, the thieves had decamped with Rs 16 lac. The thieves further were involved in a theft incident at farm house of Appaji Gowda at Kyanahalli, Sakleshpur on June 4 wherein they had decamped with assets worth Rs 4.5 lac after tying the residents of the house with rope.
The police have seized an Omni van and Indica car used for the purpose along with 157 gms of gold and silver jewellery worth Rs 2 lac and Rs 1.65 lac cash that includes Rs 1 lac stolen from Panambur. Further the lethal weapons used by the thieves have also been seized.
Police have taken the custody of the four for further interrogation.
