Mangalore, Jun 27: In an incident that occurred on the night of Thursday June 25, a man used an axe to kill his father-in-law. Ramesh (27) is accused of killing his father-in-law Ramaiah (45) at the end of an argument.
The deceased was from Hoskote taluk in Chitradurga district. Both those involved worked as watchmen for a vacant plot in Haripadav in the city. On Thursday night, Ramesh started pestering his father-in-law for money to buy liquor. As Ramaiah refused to budge, he hit Ramaiah's head with an axe, fatally injuring him in the process.
Ramaiah, who was admitted into Wenlock Hospital in the city on Thursday night, failed to respond to treatments and breathed his last on the evening of Friday June 26. The accused is absconding.
Kadri policemen have registered a case and started investigation.
