Mangaluru, Aug 24: A man who wore tiger costume and applied colour of tiger along with others in his group, entertaining people during festival season, fell into well and died.

The incident happened at Vidyanagar, Kumpala in Ullal police station limits late night on Friday. The deceased person is Vasanth Kumar (57) from Garodi, Mangaluru.  His body was found in the well belonging to Anil in Vidyanagar.

Vasanth Kumar had applied colour on him and taken part in Tableau of Mosaru Kudike in Kumpala in the group owned by a person named Sharath. But he went missing since late night on Friday. It is suspected that he lost balance and fell in the well when he was sitting on the deck of the well. As the well is covered by sheets, nobody could see that he had fallen in it. His group looked out for him till late night but could not find him. However the head of the tiger in costumes was visible when people who put Shamiana came to remove the sheet.

Fire service personnel were called out of suspicion. They searched in the well and found the dead body in it. The deceased was employed as electrician in Panambur harbour and was married. He used to put on tiger costume as a hobby.

A case of unnatural death stands  registered in Ullal police station.

Very sad indeed. Condolences to his family and may the Almighty give strength to the family to bear the loss.
Good that he was in a group who immediately sensed his absence and searched for him. If it was a loner no one would have noticed until the body would be seen floating the next day and recognition would be difficult. May his soul rest in peace.

Very sad to hear this tragedy. May his soul rest in peace. A great loss for his wife and the entire family and may almighty Lord give the strength and courage to bear the loss.

'Pillittha Vesha', which is fondly called in Mangalore and I used to enjoy seeing this entertainment during festival season in my childhood days.. Very dedicated those people who paint in tiger colour and entertain people.

Very unfortunate. I heard the tiger paint is irritating and highly uncomfortable and urges cold water splash. Few drink cheap alcohol to keep them going! This may not be applicable to the deceased as he is employed and doing it as hobby. Sadly family lost the man!

Sorry May God give Mukti to the soul
    But one important point
    Personal safety is important
Always keep your body in safe position while sitting on walls ,Parapets etc because if you loose balance you may fall
