Mangaluru: Landslide near Kulshekar – Several trains affected

Mangaluru, Aug 23: Due to a landslide near Kulshekar on Friday, August 23, several trains have either cancelled or postponed their movements. 

The following are affected trains. 

Netravati Express has stopped at Jokatte . It will return from there. 

Matsyaganda has stopped at Suratkal. It will return to Mumbai from there. 

Mumbai-CST train has reached Suratkal and it will also return from there. 



Goa-Mangaluru passenger train has stopped at Thokur. 

Goa intercity has been cancelled. 

Meanwhile the work is in progress to clear the mud on the railway track.

    The way and the rate at which the hills and trees has been destroyed at around Mangalore, these type of disasters bound to happen. The recent floods and land slides are the best example as to how the nature reacts.

    Those engineers to be held responsible for the landslides and total inconveniences to the people at large who travelling on a daily basis ! This is nothing but the effect of bribery to finish job in a low level grade ! and time again they can get the tenders for these kind of mishaps everytime to fill their starve stomach
