Bengaluru, Aug 21: Honnali BJP MLA Renukacharya, who had earlier said he was not aspiring for the cabinet berth and would not feel bad if not made a minister, has now taken a u-turn.
On Wednesday, Renukacharya hinted he will resign in case his self-respect is hurt. The MLA was taken aback when he did not find his name in the first list. What added more fuel to the fire was that Laxman Sangappa Savadi’s name featured in Yediyurappa’s cabinet.
“What was the need to give ministerial berth to Savadi? Ministerial berths could have been given to MLAs who have won,” he said adding he will not shy in speaking against what is not right.
BJP’s central leadership surprised many with its choice of Lakshman Savadi and CC Patil, two former ministers who were forced out of the cabinet after being caught watching pornographic clips in the legislative assembly.
Umesh Katti also seconded Renukacharya and said he will resign if his name does not feature in the in further appointments to boards and corporations. MLA Ramappa Lamani also voiced a similar opinion.
Voices of dissent are already being heard in the newly formed BJP government in the state. However, senior BJP leader Eshwarappa has said that all MLAs will be pacified and the government will function smoothly.
