Mangaluru, Aug 18: Superintendent of police (SP) of Dakshina Kannada, Lakshmi Prasad, has said that no satellite call was made to Pakistan from Beltangady taluk as reported in some sections of media on August 18.
Earlier it was reported in some media that intelligence department officials had come across this information while interrogating a militant in Delhi. The reports said that the militant had disclosed that a satellite call had been placed from Nyayatarpu village near Beltangady.
In the wake of a terror alert in Karnataka and in the district since Friday night, people had believed the reports.
But the SP now issued the clarification that so such call was made.
