Mangaluru: Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates distributes scholarship to needy students

Mangaluru, Aug 18: President of Kudroli Gokarnanatha Kshetra H S Sairam inaugurated the scholarship distribution, felicitation of the academic achievers and medical help event on Sunday, August 18 at Kudroli temple in city.

The event was organized by Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates Charitable Trust, in association with Shree Gokarnanatha Kshetra Kudroli and Shree Guru Charitable Trust.

As many as 250 students received scholarships worth Rs 11, 84,000.

17 people received medical help worth Rs 1.5 lac and 19 students were felicitated for their academic achievements.

Addressing the gathering, Moodbidri MLA Umanath Kotian said, "Every student needs to have some goal in their life and try to achieve it. There is nothing that is impossible in achieving one’s goal, if you stay focused. Once you grow, try to return to the society through contribution to the needy.”

Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath said, "I congratulate all the students who have received this scholarship. The Billawa organizations have helped you to avail this scholarship. Once you excel in your career, never forget those who have helped you and take that initiative in helping others in future.”

Member of Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy Gopal Anchan, president of Billawas Dubai and Northern Emirates Charitable Trust Prabhakar Suvarna, vice-president Prakash Poojary, Sathish Ullal and others were present.
