Bantwal, Aug 18: “Kalladka is taking shape as the center of religion and education. It is commendable that citizens have come together here in harmony to help and preserve Kalladka government school,” said Member of Parliament Nalin Kumar Kateel on Saturday, August 18.
He was speaking after laying foundation stone for constructing ten classrooms as part of quasquicentennial jubilee in Kalladka government model higher primary school.
“MRPL has already approved Rs 64 lacs for the full-fledged school being constructed at a cost of Rs three crore,” he said congratulating the support from old students and people in the village who give importance to education.
MLA Rajesh Naik who chaired the programme said that only countries which follow the path of peace and harmony can develop. “We need to honour young generation in the all-round development of the country,” he said.
Member of Vidhana Parishat Ivan D’ Souza, zilla panchayat president Meenakshi Shanthigodu and taluk panchayat president Chandrahasa Karkera inaugurated three separate rooms constructed in view of 125 years jubilee.
Ivan D’ Souza meanwhile announced Rs 3 lacs to construct new solar unit, Taluk panchayat president Chandrahasa Karkera announced Rs 1 lac for new building construction and taluk panchayat member Mahabala Alva announced Rs 50,000.
Entrepreneur Santhosh Kumar Shetty laid foundation for auditorium costing Rs 5 lacs donated by old student, donor P B Ibrahim.
Local zilla panchayat member Kamalakshi K Poojary inaugurated the fair of the local delicacies of Ashada month ‘Ahara Mela’ and promised to provide Rs 4 lacs for new building. Local youths from Kalladka Sharada Seva Prathistana handed over a cheque of Rs 1 lac. Nearly 70 delicacies of various kinds attracted the visitors.
Taluk panchayat vice president Abbas Ali, standing committee president C Bangera, old student, former MLA A Rukmayya Poojary, K Padmanabha Kothari, APMC president K Padmanabha Rai, entrepreneur G Yousuf Goltamajalu, Akshara Dasoha assistant director Nonayya, alumni association president Aida Suresh and others were present.
Headmaster Abubakkar welcomed. Centenary silver jubilee committee president Nagesh K gave an introductory address. School development committee president K Rajesh Kothari rendered vote of thanks. Artiste Ramesh Kalladka compered the programme.
