Mangaluru-Bengaluru train services to be delayed for another 10 days

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, Aug 17: The train services between Mangaluru and Bengaluru will be delayed for another ten days.

The torrential rains in Subrahmanya, Sakleshpur and Hassan had caused landslides blocking the tracks on August 8.

Hills had caved in on both sides of the tracks near Yedakumeri railway station. This had damaged the tracks. Also, due to the water pressure, the tracks had become uneven. The repair and restoration work is currently under progress.

However, the heavy rains are affecting the pace of the work, and hence the train services may be delayed.

Trains on this route were suspended due to mudslide in Siribagilu and four other places.
