Mumbai, Aug 16: On Tuesday, a 50-year-old resident saved lives of 117 people after he observed cracks on his building. Jagdish Bhojwani realizing the gravity of the situation called fire brigade and civic officials, who sealed off the building after it was found to be dangerous.

However, Bhojwani's act drew a lot of flak and he was subject to abuses by his neighbours who accused him of driving them out of their home. On one occasion, Bhojwani was manhandled by some of his neighbours.

Later that day, the building collapsed and the neighbours who abused Bhojwani thanked him for saving their lives. Bhojwani's quick thinking helped his neighbours escape a disaster. The people who were worried about losing their home earlier admired Bhojwani for alertness.
