Dubai, Aug 14: Twenty one workers were injured in a bus accident that happened at 8.45 pm in Muhaisnah on Thursday. The injured were transferred to nearby NMC Speciality Hospital in Al Nahda.
The workers who were employees of two different companies, comprised of eight Bangladeshis, six Nepalese, four Pakistanis, one Indian, one Kenyan and one Gambian.
As reported in Gulf News, NMC Hospital spokesperson said, “Nineteen of the patients had only minor injuries such as cuts, bruises and sprains, two had moderate injuries like fractures and one was serious. only two needed help from a general and orthopedic surgeon and all, but one were discharged after first aid and pain medication within three hours of the incident. The remaining patient was admitted and discharged in the morning.” added the spokesperson.
NMC Hospital as a goodwill gesture, waived off the medical bill of 10 workers who were not covered by insurance. CEO and Executive Director of NMC hospital, Prasanth Manghat said, “Life is fragile yet precious and there is no greater glory and joy in preserving it.
