Belagavi, Aug 13: "It is our responsibility to get the new houses built for the victims of the deluge who have lost their homes. If the houses are not built and given to the victims of floods, I will bring down the government," said Balachandra Jarkiholi, BJP MLA of Arabhavi, fuming against the government of his own party, led by CM B S Yediyurappa.
Balachandra gave this warning to the government, when he visited Tigadi village of Moodalagi taluk on the banks of Ghataprabha river on Monday, August 12.
The video containing the statement of Balachandra against his own government has gone viral on social media.
It may be recalled, Balachandra Jarkiholi's was among the 16 MLAs who had in 2010 withdrawn support to the first BJP government in Karnataka led by Yediyurappa threatening its existence.
