Bengaluru, Aug 13: The Chief Secretary (CS) to the government has sent out an order with regards to the protocol to be followed during the hoisting of flag on August 15, Independence Day in the state of Karnataka.
The order says, "On August 15, 2019, the Independence Day celebration of the year 2019, in all the district headquarters (excepting Bengaluru urban district), the respective Deputy Commissioners (DC), sub-divisional officers in sub-divisions and Tahsildars in taluk centers should hoist the flag.
“In addition, due to the deluge in most of the districts of the state, the Independence Day celebration should be done in a simple manner,” the order said.
Yediyurappa who was sworn-in as Karnataka chief minister 19 days ago, is being criticized for running a ‘one-man show’ and dealing with the flood situation himself. The flood and drought situation would have been effectively managed if revenue, agriculture and rural development ministers were appointed, Opposition Congress had pointed out.
Meanwhile, Yediyurappa has confirmed that cabinet expansion will be held post August 16, after he meets BJP central leadership.
